Five Family Movies to Watch this Christmas.

I have to admit I’m a bit of a slob at heart. So when it’s cold wet and dark outside I like nothing better than lighting the fire, slapping some popcorn in the microwave and sitting down to watch a good movie.

I love a good family movie, so here are five movies I’ll be watching with the kids this Christmas.

1. Frozen

Has it really been 3 years since Ana and Elsa burst onto our screens and into our children’s hearts. This film really is Disney at their best. A great story, songs you can’t help singing along to and amazing animation.

Sky Movies Disney 10.40 am 24th Dec

2. The Wizard of Oz

This really is one of those films that never ages. Everyone knows the story of Dorothy and Toto and her journey along the yellow brick road, picking up friends along the way, to meet the Wizard that will help her get back to Kansas.

TV3 12.55 Christmas Day

3. Fantastic Mr Fox

Ever since Nanny Rose read the boys this story 3 years ago when she visited they have loved it. The tale of the fox trying to feed his family and outwit the corrupt businessmen is one we watch over and over again.

It’s on late so we’ll be setting the sky+

Channel 4 11.55pm Boxing Day

4. Despicable Me

The movie that introduced us to Minions and showed that evil hearts can be turned good by the love of cute children. Grown ups and kids alike will laugh along to Gru as he tries to prove he is the most evil villain in the world.

5. Alice In Wonderland

I’ve not seen this yet and am really looking forward to it. We all loved Tim Burtons version of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and I’m sure we won’t be disappointed with this.

BBC2 5.50pm 30th Dec

So that’s some of the movies we will be watching. I’m hoping that Elf, Miracle on 34th Street and Robbie the Reindeer are on also. What will you be watching?
